Begin an inclusive journey with the NHS Leadership Academy to deepen your understanding of the rich and complex history of the LGBTQIA+ movement. This short course provides an opportunity to expand your perspective, challenge biases, and acquire the skills necessary to foster a more inclusive society.

Explore the historical milestones of the LGBTQIA+ movement

On this four week course, you’ll immerse yourself in the dynamic timeline of LGBTQIA+ history, where you’ll discover significant events and figures that have shaped the movement. From the early days of criminalisation to groundbreaking legal reforms and societal shifts, understanding this history is crucial.

You’ll learn how pivotal moments, such as the Stonewall riots and the fight for marriage equality, have contributed to current perceptions and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Delve into the complexities of intersectionality within protected groups

By examining real-world examples and case studies, you’ll better understand how overlapping identities can result in compounded discrimination or privilege.
